Library Services

Gutenberg College has a small reference library on campus that students can use for acquiring background information to supplement their Great Books reading. In addition, Gutenberg College students may consult (on-site) the library collections of the Eugene Public Library, and the Springfield Public Library without charge.

Students also have access to the University of Oregon’s (UO) six libraries, which house more than 2.3 million books. Gutenberg College requires every student to have a UO Oregon Card, which allows the student to check out books from UO libraries. (See the Gutenberg College Student Handbook for directions on how to obtain the card.) As an incentive to get this card, Gutenberg students receive a $30 Books & Fees credit on their winter-quarter tuition bill if they can show proof of having set up their UO library account during fall quarter. The UO library card must be renewed each year, and Gutenberg students are eligible to receive the $30 credit each year. The card is valid at the following UO libraries:

  • Architecture & Allied Arts Library (346-3637)
  • Knight Library (346-3065)
  • Law Library (346-3088)
  • Mathematics Library (346-3023)
  • Map & Aerial Photography Library (346-3051)
  • Science Library (346-3075)
